Shiro Cosmetics Salt and Stone

Bet you never thought you'd ever see a makeup post relating to Stannis Baratheon!  I made my first order from Shiro Cosmetics recently and bought four of the loose eyeshadows from their The Seven Kingdoms collection.  Each of the colours relates to a character from Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones.

I'm sure I'll show you the others in due time but first up is what I'm wearing today; Salt and Stone.  Shiro describe it as "Blackened green of House Baratheon, shining with the red light of R’hllor".  I would say it is a deep matte olive with red pearl.  Very pretty and quite hard to capture.

Look down for lots of pictures trying to show how pretty this shadow is.  Lots of pictures because tonight the clocks go forward so I'm racing to get as much sleep as I can before work tomorrow!

I applied all of my crease colours first and blended them out.  I used Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy which is my favourite sticky medium for loose eye shadows and glitters.  I dabbed it straight on to my lid and then patted Salt and Stone on top, making sure it wasn't patchy.  This almost wet layer showed off the green well so I patted a more dry layer on top to show off the red as well.

I can't wait to show you the other shades I bought from The Seven Kingdoms collection.  I highly recommend ordered from Shiro!  The prices are really affordable and there are so many colours to choose from, just don't be afraid of the fact that they are loose eye shadows!  Once you get the hang of them they are as easy as using pressed, you just need to watch for fall-out.

The full-size jars from The Seven Kingdoms collection are $6 (only with full-size do you get the picture on the top).  You can also get sample bags for £1 and mini jars for $3.50.  Shipping to the UK was $7.50 I think, which is really good, and this particular time I didn't incur a customs fee.  Bonus!

So what do you think of Stannis Baratheon's colour?  Do you think it suits him as a character?  I really love it.  And I might just go a few days without a post about something else green!
